Gandhiji was of the firm belief that that in India instead of most expensive treatment provided by other schools of medicine, the naturopathy would contribute immensely towards self-sufficiency for good health. Undoubtedly the medicinal aspects of leafy and non-leafy vegetables, soil, water, sun, air and sky would alleviate suffering beyond doubts besides the name RAM. Finally, the “Prakritik Chikitsa Samiti was established.
An autonomous committee was registered by the name “Gandhi Smarak Prakitik Chikitsa Samiti” in the year 1970. It’s first president was, the former Governor of Gujarat, Late Sri Shriman Narayanji. We were fortunate enough to receive the invaluable services of Late Sri K. Arunachalam, Late Sri C. A. Menon, Late Dr. Akshay Kumar Karan, Late Mahasaya Tirathramji and Sri Laxmidasji as successive presidents. Now, under the able leadership of Dr. A. K. Arunji, as the president, the Samiti effectively spreading the merits of Natural Life style. Late Sri Devendra Kumar Gupta, Late Dr. Hiralal, Late Dr. Jagdish Chandra Johar and Dr. Sacchidanand were the prominent personalities as secretaries from time to time. The praiseworthy achievement of this Samiti could be possible due to the contribution by Sri Karan Bhai and Sri Devendra Bhai as founder members, thereafter, the legend Sri Srikant Mullick, who as an eminent Naturopath and Gandhiji’s strong follower with utmost dedication brought about this Samiti lead the Samiti to this great peak.
