Gandhi Smarak Prakritik Chikitsa Samiti was formed in 1950 with the aim of evolving and systemetizing career training in the field of Naturopathy. The Samiti was registered under the Societies Registration Act (XXI of 1860) in 1970.
The Samiti running training courses of Chikitsa Sahayak and Diploma in Naturopathy and conducting their examinations. With the addition of Yoga the Diploma in Naturopathy was redesignated as Diploma in Naturopathy and Yoga (N.DD.Y.) in 1999
